An explosion proof and intrinsically safe miniature kit-encoder that can
work at pressures up to 250bar and temperatures in the range -40oC to
+120oC, has been introduced into the UK by Motor Technology. Manufactured
in Germany by Lenord & Bauer, the Minicoder GEL 247 EX comprises a
magnetic sensing device and toothed pulse-wheel or piston that operate
contact-free for the measurement of speed, distance and position. It is
resistant to shock, vibration and contamination and is immune to
electromagnetic interference.
