WAGO has introduced a rail-mounted universal embedded PC for measurement, control and regulation tasks as well as for operating, visualisation and data processing. This latest addition to the company's range of I/O systems, the I/O-IPC is based on Linux 2.6. An integrated web server permits operation via intranet or Internet and computing power can be scaled up to Pentium M 1.4GHz
The I/O-IPC has two independent Fast Ethernet interfaces, two USB ports, RS-232, Compact Flash Interface and DVI for direct connection to a monitor. Interface options for Profibus DP and CANopen are also provided. A major feature is the ability to snap on modules from WAGO's range of more than 400 I/O units.
Although the I/O-IPC has a complete Linux operating system, its IEC 61131-3 based software offers a programming and development environment that avoids users having to come into contact with the Linux operating system if they don’t wish to.
