Retractable shroud plugs are rated up to 600V

For many years, retractable shroud plugs have been used on electrical equipment sometimes rated up to 240V ac. In recent years safety standard IEC 61010-031 has precluded their use in handheld applications except for voltages below 30V ac - 60V dc. However, there is still older test equipment in use which will not accept fixed shroud plugs.

To address this situation Multi-Contact has brought out a range of retractable shroud plugs with protective collars. The collar provides a defined handling area and extended creepage distance, allowing the plug to be rated at 600V CATII.

Supplied on either pre-assembled leads of 1mm2 or 2.5mm2 PVC or silicone insulated cable, rated at 19A or 32A respectively, they are available in a range of colours. Alternatively they can be supplied with screw cable terminations for easy self assembly.
