Weatherproof connector range new to the Farnell catalogue

Hylec-APL’s range of weatherproof connectors and enclosures is now available from the Farnell catalogue. The weatherproof range includes plugs and sockets, junction boxes (including the smallest IP68 junction box on the market) and connectors. There are over 100 Hylec-APL products available, both from the catalogue and the Farnell website, for both single or bulk orders.

Hylec-APL provides a wide range of IP68 connectors and junction boxes that allow 2, 3 and 4 way cable entry options. Each of the products are available in a range of sizes and suitable for round and flat cables. Able to withstand full submersion, and designed to provide quick installation, the Hylec-APL weatherproof range is ideal for applications that are subjected to harsh environments.

The Paguro junction box is the smallest IP68 junction box on the market, it can withstand permanent submersion to a depth of 1.3m which makes it ideal for underground lighting systems. The box allows 4 way cable entry, accepting cable dimensions between 6.5 mm and 12 mm. The box uses an approved 3 pole terminal block which is then surrounded by silicone gel to form an IP68 seal. The silicone has a high elastic memory which means that it can be reused, unlike other enclosures on the market that use silicone gel protection.

Another product that is available through Farnell is the TEEPLUG, an inline connector which uses male/female connections which can be secured with a fixing lock nut. The connectors can be pre-wired which minimises on-site installation time, a bulkhead mountable option is also available with a protective cap for when it is disconnected.

Due to the TEEPLUG’s ease of use, and reliability in extreme outdoor conditions, they were used to connect the lighting system at last years Singapore Grand Prix. The TEEPLUG comes in a range of sizes to suit all needs, including the Mini TEEPLUG. This 3 pole IP68 connector is suitable for many applications and features the flexibility of the same product being used in either in-line or chassis mount applications.
