Memory back-up super-capacitors

The SEC range of ‘supercapacitors’ from Rhopoint Components offers an attractive energy storage option to help bridge the gap between conventional capacitors and batteries. Available in values between 470,000uF and 1,000,000uF these devices can replace secondary batteries in electronic systems.

The charge / discharge circuit is very simple and being capacitors, they can store or release energy very quickly ,which makes them ideal in for use in energy recovery systems.

Other than the fast charge / discharge time these devices offer several other benefits over secondary batteries: they will operate without significant degradation of performance over the temperature range of -25°C to 70°C, they can be charged and discharged for more than 100,000 cycles and are environmentally friendly, containing no heavy metals or other hazardous substances.

Custom capacitor assemblies are also available for applications such as electric vehicle energy recovery systems, while the standard 0.47F and 1F devices are available from stock.
