Measurements Snatched From The Ether

Mitutoyo has introduced a radio transmission system that allows measurements taken by its Digimatic caliper to be transmitted instantaneously to a printer or data capture device located up to 50m away. The UK developed device connects to the data output socket of both the 150mm and 200mm caliper models and can be retrofitted to existing instruments. Measurement data is transmitted at the press of a single button located on the top of the caliper display, the transmission being confirmed visually by an LED on the caliper and an audible signal from the receiver. Each Digimatic transmitter can be given a unique identity, allowing up to 100 calipers to transmit to a single receiver at any one time without conflict.
