New Hmi Series Offers High-Speed Update, Clarity And Realism

Mitsubishi Electric's new E1000 HMI range sets a new standard for plant mimic representation, thanks to bigger, high-resolution screens, better representational images, clearer data presentation, a high-speed update and high accuracy. Mitsubishi believes it is the first HMI system to make use of Intel's Xscale processor technology, which is expected to become the chip of choice among industrial automation suppliers in the coming years. The E1000 is also based on the Windows CE.NET operating system, which enables standard, embedded technologies to be used as well as enabling straightforward implementation of the many excellent third party products and drivers available on the market. For example, over one hundred communications drivers are available, giving the E1000 access not just to Mitsubishi's PLCs, inverters and servos, but to those of many other key automation vendors and suppliers. CE.NET offers other advantages, too. It has defences against virus attacks and can be used in conjunction with offline simulation software for easier commissioning in circumstances where production cannot be halted.A robust, IP65 rated, powder-coated cast aluminium housing encases both the electronics and the bright, high resolution TFT screen, which has the capability to reproduce more than 65,000 colours. Screen sizes of 6.5in and 10.4in are available in function key and touch screen versions, and there is a 15in touch screen version. Three resolutions are offered: 'high', 'very high' and 'premier'.
