Plc Is Compatible With ‘E-Manufacturing’

Hardware at the core of Mitsubishi Electric’s MELSmart integrated e-manufacturing concept includes the Qn series programmable logic controller (PLC) range, which is now available in the UK. Qn provides connection to Mitsubishi hardware and software products seamlessly across an enterprise, linking together plant measurement, control, monitoring and management, from shop floor automation to business systems. The PLC can be configured as a single or multi-processor device, with up to four CPUs installed on the same backplane. The initial release comes with optional Profibus DP, DeviceNet, CC-Link, Ethernet and Misubishi’s own proprietary network connectivity, with Internet connection available via the Ethernet module. Internet enabled Qn PLCs are capable of sending production reports of up to 6K words of data via email to any location in the world.
