Mitsubishi's MELSmart scheme - an initiative that brings together
partners with different strengths to develop value-added products for
control and automation - has received another boost with the announcement
of a joint software development project with Australian industrial
information management specialist, Citect. Visitors to this year's show
will see the first fruits of this partnership, a tightly integrated suite
of control and automation software called MX4.
MX4 is suitable for applications, both large and small - from the
simplest HMI package to a full plant management control system. It offers
an easy-to-use graphical interface for efficient operation and data
handling, the high level controls communicating directly with field
devices, rather than having to create simulations in the intervening
PLCs. Based on CitectHMI and CitectSCADA, MX4 comprises MX4HMI and
MX4SCADA, with plans to release MX4Business - based on Citect
Plant2Business - in the near future.
