Motors with higher quality as standard

Rotor (UK) has launched the new, high specification rotor nl range of ‘standard’ ac motors for use in demanding, quarrying and mining applications. The new Rotor range is designed and manufactured in Europe to a very high specification, making it ideal for applications that are too tough for competitors’ standard models to reach their full operating life.

The highly robust design includes cast iron construction (from frame sizes 100 upwards), high integrity seals and oversized bearings; features that ensure greater reliability and improved motor life in harsh working environments. Rotor believes there is a large part of the UK motor market that requires a better quality motor at a highly competitive price, one that is stocked and supported in the UK.

Jerry Hodek, MD of Rotor (UK), comments: “At Rotor we want to ensure that our standard range of motors is the best available, allowing our ‘standard’ rotor nl motors to be used with confidence in harsh operating environments. As a manufacturer we are also able to deliver modifications at very short notice, making our motors suitable for most applications. Our motors are also accredited to all major quality standards, including ATEX, allowing them to be fitted with complete confidence to mining and quarrying applications in potentially hazardous areas.”

The rotor nl range is available in frame sizes up to 315, and certain sizes come with larger bearings than standard motors. The motors are readily available in face, flange and foot mounted options from a large stock held by Rotor in the UK.

Rotor UK can also meet special demands at short notice. These can include special shafts and customising motors to provide additional security from harsh conditions, including epoxy protective coatings, ATEX certification, and also increased ingress protection to IP56. Working with the customer, Rotor UK is able to ensure that its motors will withstand almost any application needed in the quarrying and mining industry.
