The latest addition to specialist distributor Switchtec’s SCL brand, the PL22-LT 22mm LED Lamp Test pilot lamp incorporates a third connection terminal for testing the LEDs without energising a whole panel. The PL22-LT has been developed from the popular PL16 and PL22 multi-chip LEDs, and as such it also offers the same very low power consumption, robustness, small size and luminescence.
Aimed at OEMs, CEMs, panel builders, and equipment manufacturers, the 22mm Lamp Test pilot lamp has been designed for use in control panels across a wide range of applications including general industrial, medical, machinery, fork lift trucks, electric vehicles, lift and hoist controllers.
Showing versatility, all SCL PL22-LT lamps are available in 12 and 24V (AC & DC) and 110 and 230V (AC) and able to display a wide range of signals - the lamps are available in red, yellow, blue, green and white.
The environmentally friendly SCL PL22-LT lamp consumes less than 20mA current and has a pollution degree of 3, saving energy compared to traditional filament bulb indicators especially when multiple lamps are used in a control panel.
With an uninterrupted duty rating of 30,000 hours, the PL22-LT will outlast filament bulb types many times over and are much more robust and resistant to shock and vibration. The multichip LED is able to withstand a high vibration specification of 10 to 2000Hz, 1.5mm, 10g, which would destroy a filament lamp.
CE marked and fully RoHS compliant, the PL22-LT is manufactured from a high quality ABS with flame retardant material, maintaining its original features, whilst also incorporating the lamp test function. Able to operate in a wide temperature range of -5 to 40 degrees centigrade, the PL22-LT is ingress protected to IP65 and will operate in a maximum humidity level of 90%. The lamp uses a standard 22mm, ‘through panel’ cutout, and is supplied with a locking nut.
Incorporating the lamp test function in the 22mm housing enables panel builders to specify a single type of LED. Further factors driving the demand for this type of lamp are the need for a modern, compact design that is easy to install and wire, coupled with long, high performance LED life.
