A new multicode reader from ifm electronic is able to handle a range of barcodes and two-dimensional codes such as ECC200 datamatrix or PDF-417. Capable of reading or verifying some of the most complex dot-peened codes under difficult circumstances, such as shiny surfaces. the O2I series multicode readers can handle up to ten codes in the field of view at any one time, at any orientation, with the code content transmitted by ethernet or RS232 back to the control system. Easy-to-use set-up software is freely downloadable from ifm electronic.
Available with three different lenses for fields of view ranging from 20mm x 14mm operating at 50mm distance right up to 400mm x 300mm at 2m, the O2I series features a robust metal housing, industry standard connectors, and stainless steel mounting sets.
Illumination is integrated, but external lighting can also be used if the application demands it.
