New version of MSD series stepper drives from Motion Control Products

Motion Control Products is launching their MSD-2.0 series stepper drives, an upgraded version with better performance at higher speed, lower noise level and less heating, to replace existing MSD542 and MSD556 stepper drives.

An advanced bipolar constant-current chopping technique and use of an input voltage up to 50VDC mean the MSD-2.0 series stepper drives can produce more speed and power from the same motor compared with more traditional technologies such as L/R drives. Having used self-adjustment technology (self-adjust current control parameters) on the drive, the peak current of each model can reach up to 4.2A (for MSD542-2.0) and 5.6A (for MSD556-2.0). They are suitable for driving 2-phase stepper motors from Size NEMA 17 to NEMA 42.

Applications for these stepper drives include X-Y tables, labelling machines, laser cutters, engraving machines and pick-place machines.

The MSD stepper drive range is available via Motion Control Products Limited alongside a wider range of MCP brand product which includes hybrid stepper motors, servo motors & drives and brushed dc motors / geared motors.
