Leak-free pumping? It's in the can
Michael Smith Engineers is now able to supply the Nikkiso HK series
seal-less canned motor pumps for applications requiring guaranteed
leak-free performance. This unit has a capacity of 14.5m3/h, and can
achieve a head of 290m at speeds of up to 8,400rpm. The pump body is
hermetically sealed and provides both primary and secondary fluid
containment systems. There is no external shaft, as both pump and motor
are combined within the canned construction. This avoids the need for
shaft alignment procedures and reduces the number of wearing parts.
HK pumps are supplied as compact, two-stage units in a tandem
arrangement, with speed control provided by an external frequency
converter. They are smaller than comparable multi-stage pumps with
similar performance envelopes, and tend to be quieter and more efficient.
ATEX certified flameproof canned motor versions are also available.
