The inclusion of carbon fibre sleeves in its Roba-DS torsionally rigid shaft coupling range has allowed Mayr to extend the use of these products into environmentally challenging applications that demand less weight. Carbon fibre sleeves allow optimum long-span configurations with up to 70% weight saving over the conventional steel sleeve. This avoids having to restrict the application to short span couplings as well as reducing bearing load and system inertia in high-speed applications.
