Torque Limiter For Extruder Drives

Mayr's EAS-XT torque limiting clutch was developed to meet the requirements of single and twin screw extruder drives, where conventional components suffer accelerated internal wear and loss of disengaging accuracy. Features include backlash-free torque transmission and complete drive disengagement on overload. The limiter can be re-engaged without drive reversal and disengaging accuracy is consistently maintained to with +/-5% of set torque. The device has low inertia, thanks to its compact construction, and large bearings ensure long, maintenance-free life. Four sizes are offered, covering torque values up to 7,500Nm, and and optional flexible shaft coupling is provided for motor/extruder gearbox arrangements.
