Enclosures for face-to-face interactive applications

In developing the new ‘UNITEC’, OKW have designed an enclosure system that can be used for face-to-face applications -for example a doctor with a patient, or a sales person with a customer. The cases have two inclined operating panels at right angles to each other which allow simultaneous input of data on one side, and readout on the other.

These stylish and ergonomic enclosures have a three-part design consisting of a top part, rear-facing front part and base panel, and are moulded in ABS (UL 94 HB) in off-white, RAL 9002. For ease of assembly, the case parts interlock and are secured by just two self-tapping screws. The external dimensions are 148 x 210 x 80/25 mm, and the cases can be specified with or without a battery compartment for three or five 1.5V AA cells.

The cases are available with optional recess depths on the operating faces of 0.6 mm for graphic labels, or 1.4 mm for membrane keypads. It is possible to have an all over graphics label, or mix labels with keypads on the same case. They can be used for desktop or wall mounted applications - a simple-to-use wall-suspension element being available as an accessory.

OKW can supply ‘UNITEC’ cases with additional holes for the push-buttons, connectors and displays, plus silk-screen printed legends and logos, and EMC shielding.
