Solidworks Models Can Now Be Analysed For Mechanical Properties Anddynamics

SolidWorks models can now be analysed for mechanical properties and dynamics The new version of MathWorks' SimMechanics (v 2.1) allows easy importation of SolidWorks CAD assemblies, thus removing the need to re-create CAD models in the SimMechanics module. CAD assemblies are simulated in the Simulink environment to analyse forces and torques in mechanical joints, plot accelerations and displacements of each part in the system, and visualise the motion of the assembly. The SimMechanics interface can now be used to add control elements, actuators and sensors to the model.
