Combined air filter and dryer system cuts cost of dry air

Parker Hannifin's new Moduflex Dry Air System is a complete air preparation system combining air filtration and drying. The system is designed to increase the efficiency and reliability of compressed air systems, with integral pre-filtration to 0.1 micron and further filtration after the air is dried, preventing degraded desiccant from passing downstream.

Moduflex combines long-lasting, quick change filters and dryer combi-cartridges. The quiet-running unit can be serviced in situ in under 15 minutes, thanks to multiple in-line inlet and outlet connection ports, keeping maintenance costs down. Furthermore, the system offers service intervals of up to 12,000 hours and a built-in electronic service indicator notifies maintenance personnel when attention is needed.

The unit is able to clean and dry compressed air down to -40ºC pressure dewpoint as standard, enabling ISO 8573.1 Class 2 to be met simply and cost effectively, while a pressure dewpoint of -70ºC is also achievable to meet ISO 8573.1 Class 1 for critical applications.

The system can be specified with a number of additional features, such as remote indication of servicing requirements, a wall mounting kit for securing the dryer vertically or at a 45º angle to a wall or canopy, or the facility to pipe away the regeneration exhaust air for silent operation. With IP66/NEMA 4 protection as standard, the compact and lightweight solution can be safely floor-, bench- or wall-mounted almost anywhere for maximum flexibility.
