ifm electronic's latest pressure switch, the PN78, now has additional features that makes it even more ideal for pneumatic applications. For accuracy, the new PN78 uses a piezoresistive silicon measuring cell with less than 0.5 % switch point accuracy and giving a repeatability of better than 0.1 %.
For cost saving, the special design of the sensor allows differential pressure measurements to be made without having to connect a second pressure pick-up. The measuring range (relative pressure) is -1 to 10 bar (PN7834) or -1 to 1 bar (PN7809). The measuring cell can withstand an overload pressure of up to 20 bar and a burst pressure of at least 30 bar.
Furthermore, the new process connection with G 1/8 thread and numerous fixing holes allows the PN78 to meet common pneumatic standards. The process connection and optional adapters enable variable fixing options.
The two outputs can be programmed by the user as 2 x NC/NO or 1 x NC/NO and 1 x diagnostic output. In addition to the 4-digit alphanumeric display, 5 LEDs indicate the switching status and operating status.
Another advantage is the high protection rating IP 67, and the industrial standard M12 connector, for which ifm electronic manufactures and supplies the ideally suited EVC range of cables.
