The family has removable end panels for easy machining. It is available with or without a battery compartment for AA or PP3 9V batteries.
The three larger sizes are also available sealed to IP65, or as general-purpose IP54 enclosures but with two end panels.

• Five sizes, from 75mm x 50mm x 17mm to 147mm x 89mm x 25mm
• Sealed to IP54
• Moulded in general-purpose ABS
• PCB mounting bosses are moulded into the base
• The three larger sizes are available with or without a battery door and compartment in the base
• The battery compartment versions are supplied complete with clips for 2 x AA and 1 x PP3 batteries
• All sizes are available in black and grey
• Two sizes are also available in yellow, translucent blue, and red
• Alternative IR transparent end panels are available for two of the sizes
• Removable front panel for easy machining for components
• The smallest two sizes do not have a battery door or removable panel
• The soft overmoulds are black or grey
• All sizes feature a recessed top cover to accept a display or membrane keyboard
• Optional belt/pocket clips are available in black and grey
Key features of the specialist IP65 1553W version:
• The IP65 watertight versions of the three larger sizes have a single front panel integral with the top cover
• Sealed to IP65
• The 1553W is moulded in flame-retardant, UV-stabilised ABS for use outside
• They do not have a battery compartment
1553T key features
Hammond’s 1553T range is designed for hand-held systems where a screen and keyboard are required.
• Two sizes: display 80mm, keyboard 68mm wide and length 165mm and display 100mm wide, keyboard 86mm wide and 210mm in length
• The smaller size has a battery compartment for two AA or one PP3 9V battery
• The larger size has a battery compartment for four AA or two PP3 9V batteries
• Available with or without a battery compartment
• The battery version has one removable end panel for I/O, the non-battery version has two removable end panels
• Soft over-mould for comfort in use.
• PCB mounting standoffs in the both top and base
• Moulded in black or grey UL94-V0 flame retardant ABS plastic with a soft overmould
