ifm electronic has introduced a contrast sensor for detecting print marks and particularly flat objects. Able to detect even very small differences in contrast, the O5 sensor utilises its RGB light source and microprocessor to select the optimum transmitter colour ando ensure maximum energy difference in the reflected light. The simple pushbutton set-up saves time and additional costs during commissioning.
The device has a high switching frequency of 10,000Hz, which means that a wide range of applications - even those with a very short mark-to-space ratio - can be addressed.
Another feature of the O5 contrast sensor is automatic recognition of the circuit to which it is connected, so it knows to switch pnp or npn. The user does not need to pre-select a correct version.
An industry standard M12 connector is provided for the electrical connection, and a wide range of accessories guarantees fast and flexible fixing.
