With the O5 series sensor, ifm electronic offers safe and reliable laser technology for automation tasks where small objects need to be detected with pinpoint accuracy . The series covers a powerful through-beam system, a retro-reflective sensor with polarisation filter and a diffuse reflection sensor with background suppression.
Operator safety is paramount; the Class 1 laser emitter is the safest available, while still providing excellent sensing. An object 1.5mm across can be detected at a distance of 200mm against a background, or a 3mm object over 60m.
Visible laser light facilitates alignment of the sensors (to the object or the reflector) and the simple pushbutton set-up saves time and additional costs during commissioning.
An industry standard M12 connector is provided for the electrical connection, and a wide range of accessories guarantees fast and flexible fixing of the sensors.
