Supporting a sustainable supply chain

Industrial businesses, large and small, are all working towards the same net zero goal by 2050. They can start by making sustainability a business function for everyone in the supply chain.

Due to fluctuating energy costs, shifting consumer demands and an urgent need to act, the entire industrial supply chain is striving for sustainability.

The net zero by 2050 target is the “economic opportunity of the century”, according to the Industrial Strategy. This cites digital technologies and a skilled workforce as the key to gaining a foothold in the growing markets of clean energy, sustainable finance, and green services.

But the question remains: who is responsible for deploying technology and adapting skill sets to improve industrial sustainability?

The short answer is that for real change to happen, the whole supply chain must be engaged in building sustainability expertise, in order to close the sustainability knowledge gap.
