Lloyd Instruments' latest LR Plus and EZ adhesive strength testing
machines can conduct tension, compression and peel tests, release force
tests, loop tack measurements and dynamic shear to international
standards. Housed in a suitable chamber, these machines can also test
adhesives under a variety of environmental conditions. The machines are
capable of producing forces of up to 300kN
One UK adhesives manufacturer is using a 5kN machine in an environmental
chamber to test the peel strength of latex based adhesives in self-seal
envelopes, and the bond strength of adhesive drum labels for use in cold
climates. Other tests cover the crush resistance of cardboard tubes to
determine adhesive levels for tube construction.
