The 1457, 1457-EMI and 1455HD specialised extruded enclosures
In addition to the general-purpose 1455 Series, we manufacture three specialised variants of extruded aluminium enclosures: the watertight 1457 is sealed to IP65; the 1457-EMI provides increased EMC capability for use in electrically noisy environments and the 1455HD gives enhanced heat removal for high power applications.
They all share a number of common features with the 1455 series: they are designed to house single or multiple PCBs, mounted horizontally into internal slots in the body of the case, and they are also suitable for housing any small electronic, electrical or pneumatic systems or components.
The 1455 series has also been extended with the addition of square profiles that give much greater height for mounting multiple PCBs for distributed sub-systems and/or larger electrical and electro-mechanical components.
Another extension to the 1455's capability is the 1455F which features a completely new extrusion with a flat base with integral mounting flanges that extend beyond the body of the unit to facilitate mounting the units to a wall, bulkhead or machine.
The 1457 IP65 sealed family
For applications requiring protection against dust and water, the 1457 range is designed to meet IP65. It is available in 15 sizes from 80mm x 59mm x 31mm to 280mm x 191mm x 68mm with a clear or black finish.
The end panels are die-cast aluminium, available with or without a flange for mounting the enclosure to a surface. A self-adhesive gasket provides the IP65 sealing.

The 1457 EMC-screened versions
For applications needing EMC capability, the 1457-EMI range is available in 15 sizes from 80mm x 59mm x 31mm to 280mm x 191mm x 68mm with a clear anodised or black satin powder coat finish.
The end panels are die-cast aluminium, finished in a black satin powder coat on the external faces.
They are available with or without a flange for mounting the enclosure to a surface. A full perimeter conductive foam/fabric Ni/Cu (nickel/copper) gasket and CPSA (conductive pressure sensitive adhesive) ensure electrical continuity through the enclosure.

The 1455HD heat sink versions
The 1455HD family features additional surface area in the extrusion to provide increased heat dissipation compared with the standard 1455. It is designed for applications where high thermal loads are generated by the housed equipment. It is available in four sizes from 120mm x 86mm x 51mm to 160mm x 111mm x 61 mm. Full-length flanges enable the unit to be mounted to a surface if required.

The general-purpose 1455 family

The 1455F flanged variants
• Extruded aluminium construction with integral wall mounting flanges.
• Six sizes: 80mm x 54mm x 23mm to 160mm x 103mm x 53mm
• The mounting flanges are finished with two notches on each side to accept securing screws.
• Completely flat base for effective mounting of the unit to a surface.
• Two removable aluminium end panels.
• Available in a clear or black anodised finish.
• Four alternative horizontal mounting positions for the PCB.
• Designed to house 50mm wide 1.6mm thick PCBs in lengths up to 80 or 120mm.
