The new Modular Safety Interface (MSI) from Leuze Mayser Electronic
supports most popular types of safety system, including opto-electronic
devices such as light curtains, light grids, single beam sensors and
scanners. A single 53mm wide, DIN rail mounting MSI controller, for
example, will support two Category 4 light grids, four muting lamps and
two safety switches, which represents a significant reduction in the size
and complexity of ancillary hardware associated with safety device
integration. Versions are available for systems comprising mixed Category
2 and 4 devices, and an TS232 port allows connection to a PC for
visualisation of device output status and diagnostics.
