Lenze's BFK458 spring operated brake and Moditorque control unit combine
to provide a dynamic system for a variety of
industrial and materials handling applications requiring finely
controlled braking torque up to 600Nm. Moditorque can be connected to
various sensors, such as potentiometers, switched contacts or speed pulse
generators, the desired braking effort being provided by an internal
'magnetic flux control' function, which acts rather like an electronic
brake pedal. Moditorque can be operated in conjunction with
inverter-controlled motors, and synchronised with other braking systems
via a CANbus industrial fieldbus network.
