The 1550Z, one of Hammond’s rugged thick wall, heavy duty die-cast enclosure ranges, has been expanded with the introduction of the IP68 UL listed 1550ZF flanged versions of all 18 sizes.
The full-size flange is spot-welded to the base to give a very strong and smooth mounting plate for when the units are secured to a surface. They are available in a natural finish or with a tough polyester black powder finish to both the outside and inside of the enclosure.
The IP68 1550Z features
• 18 sizes from 50mm x 45mm x 30mm to 223mm x 147mm x 83 mm
• The lids (included in the above dimensions) range from 5mm to 33mm in depth depending on the size
• Tongue and groove design with a pre-formed one-piece silicone rubber gasket gives IP68 environmental protection
• UL and cUL Listed
• Independently tested to IP66, IP67, and IP68 and also rated to NEMA Type 4, 4X, 12 and 13
• Depending on the size, the lid is secured with either two, four or six stainless steel Philips machine screws for repeated access without degrading the seal
• The screws are outside the gasketed area and in six of the larger sizes they are self-captivated
• There are clear areas in the painted versions around the grounding points in the lid and base
• All sizes except the smallest have an impact rating of IK08, defined in IEC 62262, giving good mechanical protection
• The additional full-size flanged base plate is spot welded to the main body of the enclosure to give a strong and smooth mounting surface
• The smooth interior without any internal ribs enables easy installation of PCBs and connectors without interference or additional milling
