Lee Spring's new Compact Spring Kits are great for those occasions when you need to reach out for a spring then and there to help solve a problem or test a prototype. The kits, which hold a selection of compression and extension springs in a range of sizes, are offered in four versions with approximately 250 to 300 spring items per box. These include compression springs in music wire and stainless steel, and extension springs in the same materials. Kits cost between £18 and £25 (exc. VAT) and are packed and mailed free of charge.Stock springs are very important components for designers of mechanical and electromechanical devices, and Lee reports a steady demand for these items. However, the company says there is increasing interest in custom spring products and to satisfy this market and make it easier for customers to order their 'specials', Lee has included dedicated specification forms in its latest 132-page stock spring catalogue.Customers are still encouraged to call and discuss options but at some stage a drawing with supporting technical, operational and dimensional data is generally required. This can now be achieved using the catalogue forms or by completing them online at the company's web site.
