Traditionally outdated fuses or MCBs have been used for protecting the individual 24Vdc circuits. Now, thanks to investment in efficient manufacturing processes, in a brand-new facility, WAGO can offer the next generation of extremely compact electronic circuit breakers (ECBs) at a very affordable price.

Two new ECB ranges are available, new multi-channel ECB series; 787-3664 and 3668, and a new single channel 787-3861 series, both offer significant benefits over fuses and MCBs.

New – compact multichannel four- and eight-channel ECB series 787-3664 and 3668
Just 32mm for four or eight channels saves almost 80 percent space, compared to eight MCBs, and is the slimmed eight-channel ECB on the market saving considerable cabinet space and cost.

The ECB can be monitored and controlled remotely and where safe to do so, reset.

Each channel also has a manual on–off, reset control button that also used to configure the ECB.

A multi-colour LED provides clear indication of the condition of each channel for fast visual diagnostics.

To further help save costs, a 90 percent pre-alarm capability is included that offers the end user the chance to perform predictive maintenance and thus avoid expensive downtime.

One of the unique features of this product is the ability to parallel two channels to increase the rating up to 16A, thus achieving a very wide scope of use.

For fast and reliable installation, removable spring force connections are used helping to ensure trouble-free operation as there is no risk of loose-screw connections.

New – Compact single channel 787-3861
To complement the new multi-channel devices, a new series of single-channel product has also been launched.

At just 6mm wide per channel, this new product offers many of the same benefits as the multi-channel but with the option to choose precisely how many channels are needed for the application.

Available in specific current ratings at 24Vdc up to 8A and adjustable versions 0.5 to 4 or 1 to 8A.

The versions with adjustable current also offer the possibility of setting an overcurrent alarm at either 70, 80 or 90 percent. This provides valuable condition monitoring and the possibility of preventative maintenance.

Potential distribution modules have also been introduced to enable a flexible modular assembly of several channels to be combined up to a maximum combined load of 40A. They can be quickly wired using WAGOs reliable screw-free push-in connections.

Distribution jumper bars are also available saving more time and money on assembly.

Make sure you have the DC circuit protection with WAGO’s new benchmark for an affordable electronic circuit breaker, “the future of DC circuit protection”, today.
