The centrepiece among the company’s automated solutions on display, the D-180 is a fully servo-controlled, modular horizontal stand-up pouch packaging machine. This flagship model can complete format changes in minutes – rather than hours – thanks to a highly automated, tool-less procedure with no clean-down necessary before changeover.
The D-180’s intelligent interface even suggests positions for new formats, and can be easily adapted and modified as required.
Being the most compact machine in the D-series range, the D-180’s technology efficiently produces up to eighty pouches per minute, achieves extraordinary results in modified atmosphere packaging,
and is ready-made for use with eco-friendly films.
Ideal for any applications in which products are pouched, including food, coffee, protein and whey powders and non-food products such as detergents and wipes, the machine boasts an impressive ROI and significantly reduces downtime.
In addition, PFM will be featuring an extensive range of its latest form, fill and seal technology, including the state-of-the-art RQ550 Nano Bagmaker. Also making its UK debut, the RQ550 produces standard pillow bags, block bottom bags, steelo-bags and doy-style bags – all from a single machine.
Equipped with an innovative Quick Release
Module (QRM) that enables format change in less than three minutes, the RQ550 Nano drastically reduces changeover time and improves the finished pack quality – all in a compact machine footprint, making it ideal for production facilities with limited space.
The RQ550 will be exhibited with an MBP-14C3 multi-head weigher with the latest butterfly timing hopper design – making it perfect for low-weight bag formats.
Another machine on show will be the PFM Pearl flowrapper – just the thing for entry-level applications, yet also highly configurable, including the addition of automatic feeding systems. Available with a
1-3m infeed and held in regular stock at PFM UK, the machine is ideal for quick turnarounds and more urgent projects.
Finally, PFM is proud to showcase the latest generation Scirocco. Equipped with a new design fin seal assembly comprising four sets of fully adjustable sealing wheels, the Scirocco has greater control of sealing pressure and temperature, essential when working with the latest sustainable wrapping materials to produce hermetically sealed packs.
PFM’s Managing Director, Chris Bolton, explained: “PPMA promises to be a busy and exciting show for PFM as we showcase and, in fact,
debut an exciting cross-section of our best packaging solutions. We are a great automation partner, and we want you to see that live.
“Bringing a new machine to the UK market is both exciting and daunting, but it’s great to get out there and meet new customers and catch up with a few old ones too.
“So, come and say hi and we’ll show you what a massive difference our solutions will make, how they reduce waste, save money and deliver the highest quality flexible packaging for your products.”
