RS announces the launch of a new circuit simulator tool for use by the 1.3 million members of the DesignSpark engineering community. The announcement coincides with the 13th anniversary of DesignSpark, which was initially launched on 5 July 2010.

In partnership with Siemens Digital Industries Software’s PartQuest Explore team, all DesignSpark members, regardless of their subscription option, will have access to the new DesignSpark Circuit Simulator tool. This browser-based tool provides a comprehensive
environment for design, modelling, simulating, and analysing electronic and mechatronic circuits and systems.

Engineers can leverage this powerful tool to design, build, and test circuits quickly and efficiently before moving on to physical implementation.

The DesignSpark Circuit Simulator offers a range of specific features. These include the ability to quickly sketch electronic schematics on the go, easily create interactive reference designs for testing and understanding applications, simulate complex circuits online to save time and
computing resources, a simulation run-time of up to 60 minutes, private project-collaboration groups, and full support for SPICE and VHDL-AMS models.

In addition to the simulation capabilities, the tool enables users to incorporate single or multiple reference designs into their projects during the design stage. In Addition, these embedded reference designs can be modified as needed.

“On the 13th anniversary of its initial launch, and following the launch of DesignSpark 2.0 in April 2023, RS
is proud once again to present yet another landmark and another exciting development in DesignSpark’s continuing evolution,” said Mike Bray, Vice President of Innovation and DesignSpark at RS.

“We are always looking to partner with world-leading suppliers, such as Siemens PartQuest Explore, to bring even more value to our members with new tools and further augment our engineering resources for the benefit of the entire DesignSpark community.”

DesignSpark Circuit Simulator will run in most
modern web browsers and on any device and has full coverage for analogue, digital, mixed-signal, and multi-domain systems, including electro-mechanical and electro-thermal simulations.

“We are thrilled to partner with RS to introduce their state-of-the-art circuit simulator to the DesignSpark community,” said Matt Hoffmann, PartQuest Explore Project Lead at Siemens Digital Industries Software.

“Through close collaboration between our teams, we have seamlessly integrated the PartQuest Explore tool into DesignSpark, expanding access to cutting-edge cloud-based circuit design and simulation capabilities to RS’s broad community of engineers.”
