How efficient electric motor and pump control is reducing energy use and creating renewable energy

The ‘drive’ is on to cut energy use, increase efficiencies, and reduce carbon emissions globally. National governments, the United Nations, the European Union and others are all pressing ahead with ever more stringent goals and policies.

In turn, businesses and industry are having to adapt and change, seeking ways of addressing such requirements. In many cases, new technology is being sought to help achieve this.

When it comes to electric motors, one of the world’s most power-hungry devices, there is already a solution: variable frequency drives (VFD). Globally, it’s estimated 80 percent of all electric motors in use are not being controlled by a VFD, making them highly inefficient.

Set this against current energy costs, as well as harmful emissions, and businesses are paying a much higher cost for their processes than they need to.
