The K78-LB family is available in a choice of mounting options and offers engineers reliable models for price-sensitive, high-volume, high-efficiency applications.

Both families feature input ranges up to 36Vdc and outputs from 3V3 to 15V. Operating temperatures range
from -40 to +85°C and efficiencies are up to 95 percent with no requirements for additional heatsinks, even when operating at +85°C.
They also have low ripple and low noise operation (typ 50mV pp) and an MTBF of >2,000,000 hours.

All models have short circuit protection as standard, the K78xx-500R3-LB additionally has negative output capability. All regulators are RoHS-compliant.

The compact switching regulators are supplied in an industry-standard SIP3 package. They are pin-compatible with LM78xx linear regulators and can
be used as direct replacements.

The K78xxJT-500R3-LB series buck converters are in a 12.00 x 12.00 x 4.50mm surface-mount package and can be supplied either in tubes or tape and reel.

The K78xxJT-500R3-LB and K78xx-500R3-LB series switching regulators are ideal
for cost-sensitive, space-constrained applications which demand reliable non-isolated dc-dc conversion, for example, instrumentation, robotics, street lighting and the IoT.

Critically, for today’s fast-paced development cycles, the K78xxJT-500R3-LB and K78xx-500R3-LB are available with the industry’s shortest lead times (four to six weeks in volume) and benchmark pricing.
