Let technology drive energy savings in the automotive sector

There are many drivers behind the automotive industry’s ongoing evolution. For instance, everyone is aware of the cost pressures that vehicle manufacturers face to be globally competitive and win market share. This recently became another degree harder due to rising inflation affecting prices for electricity and raw materials.

Many predict these prices are likely to remain high for some time. The good news is that many manufacturing technologies and solutions are available to help managers at
auto plants drive down costs and offset inflationary pressures. These products not only save money, but also contribute to carbon reduction initiatives and sustainability goals.

Inefficiencies in manufacturing waste energy.
So, among the primary cost-saving measures is the reduction of leaks in compressed air systems. Compressed air finds widespread use in automotive plants as part of automated and robotic
systems.

A single leak can cost a facility thousands of euros a year, largely because the generator and compressor must work harder to replace the lost air. Making matters worse,
many plants are entirely unaware of these leaks, which not only increase energy costs but can also upset the functionality of the whole system.
