Precision clamping and braking for linear motion technologies

The comprehensive range of clamping and braking elements from Zimmer Group routinely performs critical positioning, holding and braking tasks. The elements ensure precision during machining or handling processes and boost efficiency with their short cycle times. The secure hold delivered by Zimmer clamping systems enhances safety, whilst protecting the machines within which they are integrated.

Zimmer clamping units are available for all the major manufacturers and suppliers of linear rail products, whether they are profile rails or bar systems. The range includes a series of manual, pneumatic, hydraulic, and
electric variants designed to cover the widest range of applications.

Pneumatically operated units provide fail-safe operation through spring-loaded clamping mechanisms with a clamping force of between 250N and 4500N. These systems provide the highest levels
of reliability with up to five million clamping cycles. However, the latest innovations in Zimmer’s comprehensive portfolio can be found in its hydraulic and electric technology variants.

Electrical clamping systems offer additional advantages
Zimmer’s new electrically
operated LKE series is finding its way into a number of new applications. German-based handling technology specialist EFS views itself as an innovator in partially and fully automated handling devices within, amongst others, the automotive
industry. Responding to the requirements of a number of German car manufacturers, EFS developed a demand-oriented, partially automated handling device for car door installation and removal based on an electrical system.
