Planetary roller screw carries more weight
InMoCo's Exlar FT series 'force tube' IP65 sealed actuators are based on
planetary roller screw technology, which is claimed to offer higher
speeds and load capacities, and a life expectancy some 15 times longer
than that of similarly sized acme and ball screw actuators. Available in
three frame sizes, with strokes up to 2.4m, the FT will deliver thrusts
from 8,900 to 45,000N at speeds of up to 1.5m/s. Accuracy is 30
micrometres per 300mm travel (optionally 6 micrometres/300mm) and the
backlash is just 0.006mm. Other plus-points include improved stiffness
and tolerance to shock loads.
