InMoCo’s GS series , which comprises a brushless
servomotor, inverted roller screw and encoder/resolver feedback device
all in a single, compact assembly, has a new 99mm frame size unit with a
range of strokes from 152mm to 457mm. The GS40 sits about midway in the
GS range and provides a continuous force rating to 5,337N and speeds to
635mm/s. The top-of-the-range GS60 (178mm frame) provides a continuous
thrust up to 35,600N and speeds over 1m/s.
GS actuators use an inverted roller screw mechanism of planetary design
to convert the servomotor’s rotary motion into high speed, high thrust
linear motion with an accuracy of 25micron/300mm. This mechanism can be
rotated at up to 5,000rpm - somewhat faster than comparably sized ball
screws. The units are environmentally protected to IP65, with IP67
available on request.
