Most companies have turned to automation as a path to lowering manufacturing costs. However, owning an expensive robot often isn’t economical for factories that operate with short-term manufacturing contracts and/or deal with high customisation.
After the high upfront capital cost of buying a robotic solution, there is a high risk it may sit idle after some time if the production setup changes. Add to the table a number of often hidden costs – such as worker’s training, service and maintenance, or production downtime – and it becomes clear why robotics adoption in small and medium businesses lags.
So, how do we achieve a world where revolutionary new products can be quickly brought to the market in an affordable way, to reach the people who need them? Jungle has set out to tackle this problem.
