The GENE-CML5 board features Intel 10th Generation Intel Core i3, i5, and i7, Pentium and Celeron processors in a 3.5-inch sub-compact form factor.

Supporting processors with 8-core, 16-thread technology, and a CPU frequency of up to 4.4GHz, the AAEON GENE-CML5 enables developers and end users to maintain, scale, and upgrade their computing platform to meet specific processing requirements.

Combined
with 64GB DDR4 memory, the GENE-CML5 delivers processing speeds equivalent to that of desktop PC systems. Additionally, three on-board Intel chipset options the Q470E, Q470 and H420E are available which enable the compact board to support Intel vPro, Intel Active Management Technology (iAMT) and TPM2.0, enabling remote system monitoring and management.

Expansion is also well catered for, with the GENE-CML5
providing an M.2 2280 M-Key slot which can support AI expansion modules, as well as NVMe storage. Users also have access to four-lane PCIe 3.0 expansion slots with a nFPC connector. Other storage options include two SATA III (6.0 Gbps) slots, allowing storage expansion.

Peter Marchant, Embedded Division Manager, RDS, said, “The GENE-CML5 offers flexibility, performance and expansion capability to enable
integration into existing projects and new designs. Support for Intel’s 10th Generation processors will ensure that more than adequate processing power is available for embedded industrial and edge computing applications.”

A comprehensive range of I/O includes dual Gigabit LAN ports, two USB3.2 Gen2 ports, four USB2.0 ports and two RS-232/422/485 serial ports. Networking performance is enhanced with the Intel i210
network controller, and optional i211 controller on some variants, which both support Ethernet speeds of up to 2.5GbE. Display interface options are ably supported with on-board DisplayPort++, LVDS, and VGA interfaces.

With in-house development support and manufacturing services available, RDS can help customers to create bespoke embedded computing solutions to meet their specific needs and requirements.

The AAEON GENE-CML5 single-board computer is now available from Review Display Systems.
