Balluff has upgraded its BOD 63M Time-of-flight laser sensor, which has been completely revamped with a shorter 200mm dead zone, a second discrete output, and enhanced resolution of less than 1mm. The BOD 63M still features a sensing range of 6m, suitable for many long range applications such as steel ingot measurement, precise material movement and hopper level detection.
Customers have reported successfully using its two independently adjustable setpoints to create an ON-OFF window, which makes the BOD 63M very useful in applications such as roll diameter detection, where the outputs are set to alert operators to change the roll.
Balluff’s BOD 63M is suitable for a range of tasks such as error proofing in assembly, packaging, printing, metal processing, anywhere specific positioning or accurate long range measurement is needed.
