Bring together all your instrument data with IS8000

With the drive to enhance the energy efficiency of products as diverse as electric vehicles, robots and household appliances, development engineers find themselves faced with the need to analyse a wealth of both mechanical and electrical data.

The main instruments used are oscilloscopes, which offer high sample speed and in-depth views of waveforms, high-speed data acquisition recorders, such as the Yokogawa DL950 ScopeCorder which offers a large number of channels and the ability to take
measurements over long periods of time, and power analysers, which offer accuracy in power measurements. Developers often need to bring in these measurements simultaneously to give an overall view of system performance.

However, operating these multiple instruments can
be difficult, due to the different user interfaces and the need to correlate the timing of the various input signals.

The lack of time synchronisation of data makes it difficult to find correlations between measurements – and engineers also
need to operate and learn different types of software. The result is that development cycles lengthen, leading to increased time to market.

To meet this challenge, Yokogawa has produced its IS8000 integrated software platform, which provides tight integration
of the timing, control, and data collection from several instruments. With one software suite to set up and control all the instruments needed, development engineers can start measuring data more quickly and efficiently.
