Hepco’s DTS on the front line against Covid-19

Few of us could have anticipated the impact that COVID-19 would have on our lives when it was first reported at the end of 2019. While vaccination programmes start to be rolled out across nations, testing will continue to be important in fighting the pandemic.

South Korea has received international praise for the nation’s response to the pandemic – a quick roll-out of large-scale testing was an important part of the strategy. To become a reality, it was necessary for
Korean pharmaceutical manufacturers to adapt quickly to the demand for testing kits that the policy entailed.

Machine builder HD Tech was tasked by one of the leading pharmaceutical companies in South Korea to create a production
cell for assembling COVID-19 test kits. In need of a reliable solution quickly, British manufacturer HepcoMotion became the supplier of choice.

Efficiency is key

HD Tech chose HepcoMotion’s ready-to-fit driven track system (DTS) as the
transport and positioning system; this reliable system has been used for years across all industries. In many applications, it offers an economic and efficient alternative to turntable and linear indexing systems. As the DTS comes as
