Taking Ethernet To The Extremes .

Taking Ethernet to the extremes Igus is currently offering its 'Chainflex' CF14-CAT5 cable for use in industrial systems, where it provides reliable Ethernet connection and transfer rates of up to 100Mbit/s between fast-moving machine parts and the stationery control system. This PVC- and halogen-free cable is suitable for applications in which the minimum bend radius is 12.5 times the cable diameter. The service life of the cable has been determined following extensive dynamic testing by the manufacturer. This, together with the physical properties of the cable's TPE outer sheath (high abrasion and oil contamination resistance and broad temperature range) gives the machine designer full confidence when specifying Ethernet networking for motion systems subject to high acceleration and large dynamic forces.
