Automotive DC-DC converters have a wider appeal, says Relec Electronics

Three automotive DC-DC converter series from Mornsun have a wide input range, making them ideal for automotive applications as well as for medical, industrial and communication markets.

All three series of DC-DC converters have an input range of 4.5V to 36V, making them suitable for operation during engine start up.

The AEC-Q100-qualified CUWB_YMD-6WR3 series are 6W converters which feature efficiency up to 85% and no-load power consumption as low as 0.06W.

In addition to the 4.5V to 36V input, they have 1500VDC input to output isolation and operate over a temperature range of -40 to +105°C. They also have input under-voltage protection, output over-voltage, over-current, and short circuit protection.

The CUWB series meets level 3 of EN55025/CISPR 25 EMI standards, making them suitable for industrial control, electric power, instrumentation and communications in addition to automotive electronics applications.

Both the UWE_S-1WR3 series and UWF_S-1WR3 series of isolated 1W DC-DC converters and the UWE_S-3WR3 and UWF_S-3WR3 series of isolated 3W models have an ultra-wide 8:1 input voltage range and a no-load power consumption down to 0.12W. Input to output isolation is 3000VDC and protection features include input under-voltage protection, output over-current and short circuit protection. Efficiency is up to 74% and operating temperature range is -40 to +105°C. No-load power consumption as low as 0.12W.

The UWE_S-1WR3 series offers output voltages of ±5V, ±12 and ±15V and UWF-S-1WR3 DC-DC converters are available in 5V, 9V, 12V and 15V outputs.

Output voltages for the UWE_S-3WR3 are ±5V, ±12 and ±15V and 5V, 12V and 15V for the UWF_S-3WR3 series.

Both UWE/F_S-1WR3 DC-DC converters and UWE/F_S-3WR3 DC-DC converters are compact, with dimensions of 22.0 x 9.5 x 12.0mm (SIP8 package) and are approved to EN62368.

In addition to automotive use, the DC-DC converters are suitable for medical care, industrial control, electric power, instruments and communication markets.
