Sliding Linear Bearing Tolerates Misalignment

A sliding linear bearing system that can compensate for misalignment between shafts, has been introduced by igus. The bearing features a swivelling suspension device made from igus' iglidur H material that allows angular movements of +/-2%, while the 'DryLin' floating bearing design allows a lateral compensating movement of as much as 6mm. Alignment errors between two shafts are thus eliminated when these floating bearings are used on one shaft. igus DryLin floating bearings are available in many different CAD formats, which can be downloaded from the company's web site.
