Extended warranty for enhanced geared motors

As well as the additional warranty the new Premium Protection Package includes high performance components that will help make a significant contribution to the reliability of any plant by creating more durable and robust products.

These enhanced components include a Premium Sine Seal oil seal, specially developed for SEW, that features a sinusoidal sealing lip on the motor that provides substantially increased service life. It can be placed in the same location on the shaft during servicing because it does not cause any run-in on the shaft. 

A premium fluorocarbon oil seal on the gear unit’s output shaft reliably protects against oil leakage. In addition to its resistance to aggressive media such as chemicals and solvents, it is also ideally suited for high temperature applications. Its high performance thermal and mechanical properties paired with excellent resistance to ageing ensure a long service life even under adverse environmental conditions. 

Additionally, each unit is supplied with premium SEW GearOil for increased performance. This unique gear oil was specially developed for SEW products and it reduces friction between the gear wheels, seals and bearings. It develops a lubrication film that increases the service life of the lubricant itself as well as that of wear parts such as sealing rings and bearings. 

The new package also provides customers with long-term protection not only during operation but also for long term storage times – for instance, until a drive is installed and started up.
