Rotary Table Bearings Are Made For Direct Drives

INA has introduced a range of rotary table bearings for machine tool manufacturers that meet their current preference for direct drives on all axes. Conventional high rigidity bearings for rotary tables are often limited in terms of speed because of friction losses. On the other hand, bearings that achieve high speeds, are hampered by significantly reduced rigidity. Following some development work on the raceway system, INA's new YRTS range (200 to 460mm bore diameter) can achieve a 70% reduction in rotational resistance (YRTS 325) and a 50% increase in tilting rigidity (YRTS 395) compared with the standard YRT model. The YRTS 325 actually achieves a grease limiting speed some eight times that of a standard YRT bearing. INA has recently introduced a maintenance service for its customers, including consultation, long term condition monitoring, maintenance management, assembly and repair of roller bearings, and general maintenance undertakings. The purpose of the new service is to reduce the incidence of costly unplanned shutdowns and to make existing maintenance schemes more predictable and cost effective.
