Growing two UK companies in times of uncertainty

Last month, I had the pleasure of speaking with Gary Livingstone, Managing Director of LG Motion & MiniTec about the current UK market and his plans to grow both companies during times of economic uncertainty.

LG Motion is a UK-based manufacturing partner for electro-mechanical motion systems. They design and engineer systems that are used in a wide range of scientific and industrial solutions. When asked how the current market was fairing for the company, Gary
said that there has been a noticeable decline in newer projects because of the uncertainly around EU funding, but despite that, 2018 was their best year and 2019 looks to be even better. 

MiniTec UK provides businesses with bespoke industrial solutions
using their modular aluminium profile solution, complementing facilities around the world. Their UK operation provides complete design and specialised manufacturing to a wide range of clients across the country. Gary notes that business in this field is steady, the single
largest change has been in the automotive industry – there has been a marked decrease in the level of activity throughout the supply chain, with investment either on hold or being radically slowed down. Gary says that whether its Brexit, legislation
changes on diesel engines or an over-capacity of cars, it’s all starting to have an impact. Yet, like LG Motion, the company has still grown from last year as other sectors invest in productivity.
